Welcome Ramadan! Ahlan wa sahlan the month of blessings and rewards! In this post, we will compile some photos of the crescent moon (hilal photos) that signs the first of Ramadan 1446 AH.
On the evening of Friday, 28 February 2025, many muslims around the world were looking for the first light of crescent moon that marks the beginning of 1 Ramadan 1446 H. As predicted from the crescent moon visibility map, the hilal of 1 Ramadan 1446 AH will be easily visible from the American continent only. However, we have some claims of positive moon sightings from Indonesia, Ghana, Algeria and Saudi Arabia. No regular photos of the Ramadan crescent moon can be obtained from those countries except CCD images of the crescent moon from Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries.
In the UK, no naked eye sighting was reported. But, an experienced moon sighter reported a positive sighting when looking the crescent moon of Ramadan using binocular. We are still waiting for the image or photograph of the moon from UK.
Clear images of the crescent moon of Ramadan were obtained from the USA and many witnesses saw the hilal of Ramadan easily with naked eyes there. Therefore, based on global moon sighting reports, 1 Ramadan 1446 AH corresponds to Saturday, 1 March 2025 CE.
Here are some of the photos of the crescent moon of 1 Ramadan 1446 AH. Most of them come from the USA. There are a couple of Ramadan crescent moon photos from Mexico and Canada, too.
