The islamic calendar in Pakistan is based on monthly practice of moon sighting. The hilal committee from the Ministry of Religious Affairs will decide and announce the beginning of each islamic month. For the month of Sha’ban 1444 AH, the moon sighting will take place on Tuesday evening, 21 Feb 2023. It is expected that the moon will be easily visible in Pakistan as shown in the crescent moon visibility map fro Shaban 1444 AH.
Therefore, 1 Sha’ban 1444 AH in Pakistan will correspond to Wednesday, 22 February 2023 CE. With this date, the Shab e-Barat night or the middle of Sha’ban night will start on Tuesday evening, 7 March 2023.
