As predicted by Crescent Moon Visibility Map for Dhul-hijjah 1441 H, the crescent moon (hilaal) was sighted via telescope aids in Indonesia on the evening of Tuesday, 21 July 2020.

Crescent Moon Visibility Map for 1 Dhul-Hijja 1441 AH on Tuesday, 21 July 2020. Many parts of the world, especially western hemisphere, will be able to see the crescent moon.

Below are the photos of the crescent moon that mark the start of the 1 Dhulhijja 1441 AH, the month of Hajj or pilgrimage to Makkah. Based on this moon sighting result, the Eid-ul-Adha festival, 10 Dhul-hijja 1441 AH will be on Friday, 31 July 2020. The first photos were from Indonesia although coming from CCD or image processing of the crescent as captured via telescopes.
