Below are two pictures that describe what Israk Mikraj is all about: one in english and the other in arabic. This exrtraordinary and extra-terestrial event was one of the miracle of the Prophet Muhammad saw. In one night, he traveled (or rather, was traveled) from Ka’bah, in Makkah to Masjid al Aqsa, in Jerusalem. He then continued his journey into heaven visiting the seven heavens and received order directly from Allah, the Lord of the Universe. God sent him the angel Jibril (Gabriel) and a heavenly creature named Buraq (lightning) to accompany and carry him through this journey.
It should be noted that, while in the infographics the date of the Israk Mikraj event is stated as 27 Rajab, this date is still disputable. Muslim scholars have differing view on the exact date of the event. While the year is agreed upon, the date and the month are not.
