The crescent moon (hilaal) that marks the begining of hijri month of Shawwal 1436 AH was first sighted on the evening of Thursday, 16 July 2015 from Chile and Colombia. The crescent moon was only sighted by optical aids and not visible by naked eyes. This sighting was consistent with the visibility map of Shawal 1436 AH.
