Kata Mutiara Islam: Dunia hanyalah kesenangan yang menipu - Al Hadid: 20
This world is like a shadow: run after it and you will never be able to catch it; turn your back against it and it has no choice but to follow you.
— Ibn al-Qayyim
â€The world is three days: As for yesterday, it has vanished, along with all that came with it. As for tomorrow, you may never see it. As for today, it is yours, so work in it.†– Hasan Al Basri (rA)
“And that is the secret of this world. If you remove love of dunya from your heart, the dunya is yours for the taking. You can have the dunya because it’s in your hand and not in your heart†Sh. Hamza Yusuf
“Five things are associated with difficulty in life: the heart is hard, the eyes don’t shed tears, to have limited hayya’ (usually translated as ‘shyness’), to desire the material world, and to have lengthy hopes/desires in your life.†~Al-Fudayl ibn Iyad
“A slave of Allah will remain standing on the Day of Judgement until he is questioned about four things: his life on earth and how he spent it, his knowledge and how he utilised it, his wealth and how he acquired it and in what way he spent it, and his body and how he wore it out.†– Prophet Muhammad (as reported in Tirmidhi)
“Losing time is harder than death, as losing time keeps you away from Allah and the Hereafter, while death keeps you away from the worldly life and people.†– Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah
