The month of Ramadan is the 9th month in the islamic calendar system. It is the most popular month among muslims for in it muslims are obliged to fast for the whole month. Ramadan is also special because in this month the Qur’an was revealed and there is a special night called “Lailat-ul-Qadr” or the night of power where any good deed will equal 1000 months of goodness.
This year, 1st Ramadan 1432 AH starts on 1st August 2011. The Ramadan will have 29 days and ends on 29th of August. The Ramadan this year, according to Ummul Qura or Global Islamic Calendar, should fall on the same gregorian dates. Hopefully there should be no differences across the globe this year.
