As the month of Ramadan 1444 AH is nearing, many muslims all over the world go out and scanning the sky to sight the first glimpse of the thin crescent moon that marks the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan. Most will be doing their moon sighting on Wednesday evening, 22 March 2023. Therefore we will have some crescent moon photos of 1 Ramadan 1444 AH after Wednesday evening.
However some has conducted the rukyatul hilal on Tuesday evening such as Saudi Arabia with no positive sighting. More possibility of sighting the moon will be on Wednesday evening as visualized from the visibility map of Ramadan 1444 AH. Less chance of getting hilal 1 Ramadan photos is expected from Australia, Indonesia, Pakistan, India and South Africa.

Two muslim organisations from New Zealand (FIANZ) and Australia (Moonsighting Australia) stated that the crescent moon of Ramadan 1444 AH could not be sighted from their respective countries on Wednesday evening.

Despite many sighting reports of the crescent moon of Ramadan from many places in the world, some regions like New Zealand, Australia, Bangladesh and South Africa declared that the hilal was not sighted on Wednesday evening local time and therefore they will start the fasting month of Ramadan 1444 AH on Friday.
