When Does 1 Rajab 1444 Hijri Start?

The month of Rajab is the seventh month in the islamic hijri calendar system. In the year 2023, 1 Rajab 1444 AH will be marked by the new moon (conjunction) on Saturday, 21 January 2023 at 20:53 UT. The first visible crescent moon could be sighted in many parts of the world starting on Sunday evening, 22 January 2023. Specifically, the Africa and America continents will have greater chance to easily sight the first crescent moon (hilal) of Rajab 1444 AH. Muslims in Asia, Europe and Australia will have less chance to see the crescent, but if the sky is clear they may be able to have positive moon sighting results especially if aided with optical means such as binocular or telescope.
