The Saudi Supreme Court has announced that Ramadan 1436 AH begins on Thursday, 18 June 2015 CE. The decision was taken after the call to sighting the crescent moon resulted in negative sighting all over the country. The Court ordered people to look for the hilal of Ramadan on the evening of Tuesday, 16 June 2015. With negative results, the month of Sha’ban was otomatically extended to 30 days until Wednesday and Ramadan begins a day after that on Thursday.
The decision was also followed by muslim countries around Saudi Arabia like Jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and UAE.
